No, this post is not a decade-late tribute to
the Coldplay song of the same name because that song is actually one of my
least favorite Coldplay songs of all time.
It's about our kitchen:
 |
| It is now all very, very yellow! |
For reference, this is what the kitchen looked like before:
 |
In addition to the rather dismal brown paint
and childish decals, the ceiling paint was
forever getting bugs and other critters
stuck in it. |
As you can see from the next few pictures, Victoria's folks did most of the work. In fact, when I left for work in the morning, they hadn't started, and when I came home, Victoria and Jan were just putting on the finishing touches! Now that's my idea of repainting.
 |
| Lou does the rolling. |
 |
| Jan does the edging / acrobatics. |
The final product! It turned out to be just a bit brighter than we'd anticipated from the paint sample, but we love it. It's bright and cheery enough to get us through some long, gray, cloudy Michigan winters.

Vic's over-the-sink painting of lemons and kumquats now
matches perfectly! |

I love it! the yellow is great. My dad used to have a tiny, bright yellow kitchen, so it brings back good memories for me. And I LOVE your kitchen table. It's great guys!
Thanks, Mandi. Victoria's Grandpa Kobie made the table and chairs. In fact, one of the chairs has a special little drawer under it where he used to keep his pipe and tobacco. You can still smell hints of the flavored tobacco if you put your nose to it.
The video's are the greatest!I can't stop laughing on Finley's first taste of the different foods! He is the Most Adorable baby boy!
As for the yellow painted kitchen,it can be called a room full of sunshine!
Also, that is how Martha Stewart painted the new look kitchen,on her tv show,"all yellow"!
