This is photo taken during my parents' visit to Seoul in July. Guess HUGEness runs in the family!

Typhoon Kompasu (Compass)
Yeah, we're getting pounded by it. Here's the current satellite image:
I'm so oblivious and out of touch with the local news that I didn't even know it was coming! Wish someone had warned me!
I didn't know anything about it until I was awakened about 1/2 hour ago to crazy-loud winds and stuff banging around. The glass door to the balcony at the end of the hall way had been propped open and so it was able to swing back and forth -- it shattered:

The trees below and outside are swaying wildly. One or two have snapped and have fallen most of the way across the road:
The weather report suggests that it's not going to get any worse, so there's nothing to worry about. Which is good because -- as far as I know -- classes haven't been canceled, so I've got to walk out in that mess in about an hour on my way to class! Exciting way to start my day!
UPDATE: Dude, it happened to me! The power went out while I was in the BK House elevator! Elevator stopped. A pleasant woman's voice told me that the power had gone out. Tried the Emergency Alarm button -- nothing happened. Tried it again -- nothing.
So I did what everyone does in the movies: I pried apart the doors of the elevator to see the classic, stuck-between-floors view. I'm just about to hoist myself up to the 6th floor (about chest high for me), when I decide I should photograph the moment.
But, sadly, just as I'm getting out the camera, the power comes on and the doors close. After a few more seconds I'm returned safe and sound to the 6th floor, with no photographic proof. Shucks.
Needless to say, I took the stairs down. :)
UPDATE 2: All across campus, trees are down...
